OSCAR-NOMINEE ALLISON JANNEY (“I, TONYA”) IS BACK FOR SEASON 2 OF THE OUTRAGEOUS STAR-STUDDED COMEDY SERIES BREAK A HIP - SET TO PREMIERE VALENTINE’S DAY!

AT WWW.BREAKAHIP.COM FEBRUARY 14, 2018

LOS ANGELES (January 24, 2018)  - Allison Janney, who just secured her first Oscar nomination for her portrayal of disgraced skater Tonya Harding’s mother in “I, Tonya,” will return to guest star in the hit digital series BREAK A HIP when the comedy returns for season 2.  The groundbreaking, crowd-funded (IndieGoGo) digital series will launch on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018.

Series Stars: 5-time Emmy nominee - Christina Pickles (“Friends”, “St. Elsewhere”) along with newcomers Britt Hennemuth, Annie Rives, Amy Holt, and Presly Coker.

Besides Miss Janney, guest stars include Oscar-winning screenwriter Jim Rash (Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants”, director & co-star of “The Way Way Back” and star of NBC’s “Community”), award-winning actress - Peri Gilpin (Roz Doyle on “Frasier”, “Make It Or Break It,”), Priscilla Barnes (“Three’s Company”, “Jane The Virgin”), Lawrence Pressman (“American Pie”, “Doogie Houser”), Jean Rasey (“The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries”), Craig Robert Young (“NCIS”, “Fringe”, “Charmed”), along with real-life husband and wife acting legends Carole Cook (“Sixteen Candles”, “A Very Sordid Wedding”) and Tom Troupe (“Star Trek”, “The Devil’s Brigade”).  Miss Barnes was the winner of a Indie Series Award for Season 1 as “Best Guest Actress.”

In Season 2, Wincy (Hennemuth) returns to LA after a disastrous theater experience in Boston only to find that Biz (Pickles) has fallen under the strange influence of a “long lost nephew” (Young). Biz has not only changed her appearance, she’s also seemingly a different person. Wincy, along with the help of Biz’s hipster neighbors, Liberty (Rives), Norma (Holt) and Lyle (Coker) sense something fishy is going on, so they set out to save Biz from potential danger. In a new living situation, Biz meets a whole new cast of characters ready to irritate and challenge her. Miss Janney returns for Season 2 playing Biz & Wincy’s banjo-paying landlady Nibblet.  Also returning is cult-guru acting teacher Sabina Kleinfelter (Barnes), shady Sheriff Merkenstock (Gilpin) and Biz’s old nemesis and acting rival Pearl Goodfish (Cook) and her husband Earl (Troup) who was an old flame of Biz’s.

“We were fortunate to have such an overwhelming response from our audience - so much so that they paid to have a second season produced! And, with so many unanswered questions, we made it happen,” remarked series writer/director and award-winning Los Angeles theater director Cameron Watson (“Our Very Own”).  “At the end of Season 1, Wincy was headed to Boston and Biz was possibly on her deathbed.  Season 2 is about deepening that relationship. Wincy, who’ at the beginning of his journey, and Biz, who is at the end of hers, have more in common than either would care to admit. Their tenacity and survival instincts make for quite a formidable team. It’s a universal message that I think we can all relate to.”
